LASSUS
Château LASSUS
Crus Bourgeois since 1932
The winery was mentioned in the first edition of « Bordeaux Et Ses Vins » edited
by Charles Cocks in 1850. This time it was owned by P. Brion. In the fifth
edition of the guide in 1886 the winery appeared under its current name, Château
Lassus. In 1932 Château Lassus was awarded Cru Bourgeois status for its Medocian
wine. The estate was bought by the Paeffgen family in 2010 who have realized
large investments since to help the cru maintain its renowned status. The
quality focus is realized by sustainable efforts in the vineyards, a strong
selection process upfront harvest as well as during processing of the berries
and finally by the maturing of the wine in selected French oak barrels
(barriques). As such the potential of the exceptional terroir and the old vines
with reduced yields is converted in a Médocwine with elegant finesse, clarity in
the fruit expression, complexity of aroma and taste with a smooth tannin
structure.
Remaining a typical Medoc-wine, Château Lassus has a
significant aging potential.

The Wine
The Chai Barrique
of Château LASSUS
Château LASSUS is a typical Médoc wine in the style of a Crus Bourgeois.
When young, its powerful structure makes an approach a voyage of discovery
of hidden aromas, although very early on an elegant fruit combined with a
finely balanced barrique note create a well-balanced ballance.
LASSUS
embodies a classic Médoc wine with powerful density on the palate and
finesse in the length.
LASSUS shows a revelation of elegance after
an ageing of 5-10 years.

Lassus 2012, AOC Médoc
Couleur violette intensive. Nez un peu sur la réserve. Notes de cerise, En bouche l'attaque est agréable, légèrement friande et le vin se révèle harmonieux. Un vin agréable, de caractère juteux avec une belle structure et des tannins parfaitement intégrés. 2016-2020. 86-88/100

Lassus 2011
Score: 87
A warm paving stone note leads the way, with steeped currant and plum notes at the core and a broad, tarry feel through the lightly smoky finish. Drink now through 2016. 11,830 cases made. –JM
